About Us
Citizens for Seattle Tube (SeattleTube.org) was created to save Seattle from years of unnecessary gridlock. We are proponents for building a new SR99 route in a different location while the Alaskan Way Viaduct remains in use during construction. Our mission is to encourage city of Seattle and Washington State officials to consider building a bored tunnel from South 6th Avenue just east of Quest Field to the north end of the Battery Street Tunnel. Upon completion, traffic will be seamlessly re-routed and the old viaduct will be torn down to make room for a pedestrian-friendly waterfront on Elliot Bay.
